Starting October 11, when you log in to Overdrive, you will be greeted with a new experience. The interface will be simpler to navigate, you should find shortened wait times for items on reserve, and you will now have the ability to request purchases for our digital collection.
For the past several years we have been part of a consortium of 50 libraries, so our community members have been competing with members from all of those other libraries for use of a shared collection. In order to serve you better, we are launching a stand-alone collection for just our community. Initially, it will have about 4000 items, but we will be adding items every week.
Download the Overdrive app or re-login on October 11 to access the new features. If you are in the middle of a book that you don’t think you will finish before October 11, download it ahead of October 11 in order to finish reading.
Never used Overdrive? Have questions about these changes? Ask for help at the desk or stop by Tech Help on Tuesday, October 11, from 5-7 at either library.
It is difficult to anticipate issues that may arise when you make changes to technology, so please let us know if you run into any problems. We will be evaluating checkout length and limits in a few months.
