Family Meditation: Mindful Senses - Know Your Orange @ Westbank
Join Elizabeth Hoisington as she teaches our families to practice mindfulness through a series of fun exercises. Each week a different mindfulness and meditation exercise will be introduced that you and your family can do at home.
May 30th: Know Your Orange (Mindful Senses) See, touch, smell, hear…..how mindful are you when eating? Truly get to know your orange! Join us for mindful bodies, listening, breathing, and then use all your senses as we mindfully explore an orange.
We know practicing meditation is good for us. It allows us to be present in our lives, choosing a skillful response, instead of succumbing to our reactions. Meditation is also good for our children. There is an emerging body of research that indicates mindfulness can help children improve their abilities to pay attention, to calm down when they are upset and to make better decisions. In short, it helps with emotional regulation and cognitive focus.
Recommended for ages 4 and up with their caregiver.
